Leak Detection

Park Avenue Pools is Long Island’s leading specialist in leak detection. Helping both commercial and residential owners identify exactly where water is leaking from. An unrepaired leak obviously wastes water, but it does more than that. Heating and treating new water can cost hundreds of dollars in wasted fuel, chemicals and structural damage. Often unseen until its too late this can cause thousands of dollars in masonry and landscaping repairs. If you suspect a leak, don’t worry. The Park Avenue Pools professionals have the skills, tools and experience to make complete repairs quickly and at competitive prices.

We lose three primary techniques for leak detection.

Electronic Leak Detection

For structural, (external), leak concerns we use state of the art ‘electronic leak detection’ which locates and profiles leaks reliably and efficiently, saving you time and money. Oftentimes, we’re able to patch or repair the leak immediately with underwater epoxy, at no additional cost.

About 70% of the leaking pools are losing water due to structural problems, so unless there is an obvious alternative, we’ll begin with this test.

 Computerized Leak Detection

• The computerized leak diagnosis enables rapid determination of a pool’s water loss. It measures water level changes to the 10,000th of an inch, enabling leaks to be identified in as little as 5 minutes. It can also confirm a pool’s leak status without investing time and expensive procedures. It will confirm that leaks have been fixed avoiding follow-ups.

• Detail calculation provides estimates of water loss in inches or gallons per hour or day. ‘Anderson’s Pressure Induction System’ allows us to induce and measure water or air pressure in your pool’s underground plumbing system without any need to excavate or cut pipes. Utilizing the ‘Pressure tester’ in conjunction with our open stem plugs allows us to access virtually any plumbing section or connection. Once we discover which section is losing pressure, we use underground sonic detection to identify the precise location. Most repairs can be made the same day.

Plumbing Pressure Test

• Anderson’s Pressure Induction System allows us to induce and measure water or air pressure in your pool’s underground plumbing system without any need to excavate or cut pipes. Using the Pressure Tester’ in conjunction with our open system plugs allows us to access virtually any plumbing section or connection. Once we discover which section is losing pressure, we underground sonic detection to identify the precise location. Usually, repairs can be made the same day. If excavation is required, we will minimize any disturbance and leave the job site in the same conditions before repairs were made. (Landscaping and masonry issues will be discussed.)
